History

1970s

  • 1974: MOS began as a high-end tooling manufacturer for the semiconductor industry.
  • 1976: At the request of many long-time customers, MOS expanded into high-precision custom injection molding.
  • Exciting early products included Silicon Graphics' first video conferencing camera and one of the earliest three-button after-market computer mice.

1980s

  • 1987: MOS Expanded vertically to provide customers with end-to-end services, include tooling, molding, inspection, complete production manufacturing services, assembly, and secondary services.

1990s

  • 1995: MOS started manufacturing medical devices for industry leaders such as Medtronic, Target Therapeutics (now part of Boston Scientific), and Cardima.
  • 1995: MOS purchased Hewlett Packard's molding facilities.
  • 1996: Solving molding and manufacturing problems for Kimberly Clark opened the door to manufacturing for the personal care industry.

2000s

  • 2000: KS Manufacturing Group purchased MOS from its original owner, giving MOS the global purchasing power it enjoys today.
  • 2003: MOS made additional investments in medical device manufacturing, building the Bay Area's only class 10,000 clean room.
  • 2005: MOS added a 2,000-square-foot medical molding white room with highly efficient electric-hybrid molding machines.
  • 2005: Custom built high-volume assembly equipment for an industry-leading cholesterol-testing device manufacture.
  • 2005: To accommodate customer needs, MOS added three portable class 10,000 soft-wall clean rooms.
  • 2008: MOS received ISO 13485:2003 certification.
  • 2009: MOS received State of California Department of Health certification for medical device manufacturing.
