Insert molding improves part consistency and reduces per-part cost by combining molding and assembly into a single operation.

Over Molding: an MOS Specialty

Over molding—molding one material over another—is a process used to reduce assembly costs, produce a multi-color part, create a part with more than one tactile sense, or to add strength, durability, or shock absorption.

Although this is a complex process to master, it has become an MOS specialty. The MOS team is particularly skilled at difficult combinations of materials, such as molding TPE over a hard substrate.
